Regional broker-dealer located in the heart of Coconut Grove in Miami, Florida has an opening for a General Ledger Accountant. Position is responsible for supporting the accounting department with bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, accounts payable/receivable. Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and software required (QuickBooks, Excel, Depreciation schedules, Credit card reconciliations, etc). Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a strong professional and educational drive. This position provides accounting and operational support for firm and Senior Officers. Schedule flexibility and ability to work evenings as needed is a must for the right candidate. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and relevant experience required. This is a salary and benefit based position with bonus potential based on performance.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA License Preferred
- Strong Excel skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail
- Schedule flexibility and ability to work early mornings and/or evenings as needed.
- Candidate must be highly efficient and possess excellent customer service skills
Responsibilities:
- Process and file payments to vendors
- Maintain a list of open bills
- Deposit checks
- Record general ledger entries
- Reconcile and record credit card charges (monthly + receipts)
- Reconcile and record petty cash (monthly + receipts)
- Perform month-end closing excluding trading accounts
- Record receivables (intercompany, others)
- Fixed assets depreciation
- Prepaid expense amortization
- Maintain insurance schedule and fixed asset files
- Prepare, IRS form 1096 with corresponding 1098s and 1099s (annually).
Salary is 65k-75k commensurate with experience.
