Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Learn and master all duties and responsibilities of the position, and demonstrate skills necessary for succession planning to the Controller role
• Month end financial close, to include but not limited to: financial statement preparation; reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers; journal entry preparation and recording
• Revenue recognition under ASC 606, including Percentage-of-Completion method
• Reporting results of operations and financial position to Safran Group on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Assist in preparation of the Annual Budget in accordance with Safran Group guidelines and schedule
• Assist with implementation and enhancements of controlling activities related to departmental expenses, programs, and variance analysis
• Assist in enhancement, control, and maintenance of Standard Cost system in SAP
• Support the preparation of IFRS accounting consolidation package quarterly
• Support tax compliance by providing financial data to tax consultants
• Support company wide lean-sigma and cost reduction initiatives
• Support company compliance with government accounting requirements and DCAA audits
• Weekly labor and overhead posting
• Backup for bi-weekly payroll submission
• Ad hoc analysis using Excel and SAP Business Objects

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or public accounting
• Minimum Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting and/or Finance. Master’s degree preferred
• Requisite knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
• Strong accounting background acquired in a public accounting firm or in industry
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written skills
• US Protected Individual Status

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA license or desire to obtain license in the near term
• Work in an ITAR compliant environment
• Knowledge of FAR /DFARS and cost accounting requirements for government contracts
• Knowledge or familiarity with IFRS
• SAP experience using Finance and controlling modules
