I am currently working exclusively with a Global Manufacturing Business in Warrington who are looking for an In House Assistant Tax Manager to join their leading tax team.

This is a varied and exciting role where you would have support from another Assistant Manager and a Head of Tax. It is the ideal role for someone looking to make their first move from an accountancy practice to industry.

Description

As the In House Assistant Tax Manager, the Projects, planning and tax advisory responsibilities will include:

  • Ongoing support with restructuring projects, including changing ownership of entities, liquidations, and capital restructures.
  • Support on M&A transactions including due diligence & structuring.
  • Managing and liaising directly with external advisors on the collation of tax advice relating to key business initiatives.
  • Assisting with the review of cross-border taxation requirements including filing requirements, permanent establishment assessments, and withholding taxation obligations.
  • Assistance with managing the Group's position for Group relief, interest restrictions, and loss utilization.
  • Assisting with review and maintenance of UK tax strategy and anti-facilitation of tax evasion legislation.
  • Stay up to date with changes to legislation and inform stakeholders of the impacts.
  • Ad hoc advice on VAT and PAYE as necessary.

UK Risk, reporting & compliance responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of UK CT computations for the business entities
  • Assisting with the in-sourcing of the UK entities from the incumbent advisor
  • Assistance with preparation of UK Budget tax figures
  • Calculating and payment of quarterly payments on account and group relief
  • Assistance with management of HMRC enquiries into tax returns across all taxes
  • Prepare current tax and deferred tax asset/ liability calculations for group consolidated accounts and UK statutory entities
  • Assistance with the year-end process including audit queries for group consolidated accounts and UK statutory entities
  • Preparation of tax charges & notes for inclusion in financial statements for group consolidated accounts and UK statutory entities
  • Coordination of R&D claims
  • Assisting with the SAO sign off and supporting documentation

Profile

The successful In House Assistant Tax Manager will be:

  • ACA, CIOT or equivalent
  • Experience in corporation tax. VAT and payroll taxes awareness preferable but not required
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Experience of liaising with HMRC
  • Experience in presenting complicated tax information clearly
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships with a variety of people across the business including finance, HR, commercial.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and motivated

Job Offer

There will be a flexible salary on offer ranging broadly between £45,000 - £55,000 + bonus (depending on experience).

The business will allow a split home-working / office hybrid role.

There will be the option for occasional travel (if interested) to visit the overseas tax team.
