SUMMARY
Assists in all aspects of financial reporting, planning, and control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
Management
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage outsourced functions- accounting
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting and human resources departments, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
  • Manage the MRP software, transitions form Navision program to Epicore in 2019 and recommend new software to SEMT
  • Manage outsource of IT functions
  • Transactions
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid within terms
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected within terms
  • Process payroll every two weeks in accordance with HTG policy
  • Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made per schedule
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and review annually
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Oversees the administration of the company's employee benefits program
  • Reporting
  • Issue complete financial statements by the 8 th business day of the following month
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Prepare reports for board meetings as needed
  • Compliance
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external accounting firm for the preparation of annual balance sheet income statement a& tax report annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Responsible for policy development and administration
  • Comply with local, state and federal labor laws reporting and filings
  • Performs special projects as needed.

    Assists in annual review by outside accountants in preparation of annual statements and tax returns

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Directly supervise employees in the Accounting Department. Directly supervise employees in the Human Resources Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and four to ten years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
