Tempting Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a Public Sector Organisation to recruit a Pensions Adviser.



Salary:
£32,910 - £35,745 per annum
Working Pattern: Full-Time
Contract: Permanent

OVERVIEW

As the Pensions Advisor you will be required to ensure a both efficient and effective pension provision, while liaising with not only the internal teams but also the external Payroll and Pension Administrators.

The successful candidate will be required to understand pension legislation and regulations in order to ensure they can not only identify but also deliver changes to policies and procedures, as well as advising managers, employees, and its Committees.

JOB DETAILS

Provide advice and guidance to managers, employees in relation to pensions, discretions and the pension aspects of ill health retirements.
Be the lead adviser, and primary point of contact, for employees and managers on pension related matters and processes, helping staff to understand the complexities of pensions especially as they plan for retirement and approach key points in their careers for example promotions and, where applicable, ill health retirements.
Working with employees, HR, Payroll and the Pension Administrators resolve complex issues relating to pensions advising on the application and interpretation of relevant pension regulations and procedures.
Assist, where required, with the administration and issuing of all pension documentation for employees in respect of appointments, retirements, promotions and terminations of contracts, working in consultation with the Human Resources (HR) Team.
As part of the HR team provide pre-retirement advice to employees, coordinate and participate in pre-retirement course seminars and deliver any relevant training. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educated to 'A' level or equivalent level 3 qualification, or alternative evidence of significant experience of working at the level required in this role
Significant knowledge and experience of providing advice and guidance on pensions and pension processes
Previous Public Sector, Local Government or Emergency Services experience in a pensions role
Significant knowledge of, and ability to interpret, pensions legislation
