Job Purpose

Key Aspects Of The Role Are To

Primary and Established Products (PEP) is one of the manufacturing groups in Pharma Supply Chain (PSC) comprising of 17 sites (primary, secondary) and all customer supply chain markets in Emerging Markets. The role of FP&A manager reports to the FD of PSC PEP and is responsible for leading all the financial planning and reporting activities within the manufacturing group.

  • Support the FD, PSC PEP in the delivery of PSC PEP P&L and Cash (capex and inventory) commitments.
  • Work closely with Emerging Markets (EM) finance team to supports delivery of £3bn Pharma and £1.4bn Vaccines sales and delivery of EM One P&L.
  • Lead the planning and forecasting cycles across PEP Supply Chain (sites & customer supply chain) including monthly rolling forecast process.
  • Structure and lead the monthly actuals review with 17 sites and EM customer supply chain markets, to identify key drivers of performance and to explain performance versus plan, forecast and target.
  • Deputize for FD, PSC PEP in all forums when required. Support strategic projects in analysis of business case and implementation.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Degree plus professional qualification (e.g. CIMA or local equivalent) with 9-10 Years Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and planning. Prior experience in supply chain finance is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to make complexity simple
  • Demonstrated experience with senior stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience of providing management insight and value-added analysis for complex issues
  • Ability to form strong relationships with site, supply chain and commercial teams to ensure the best outcomes for GSK
  • Capability to lead and work in a complex matrix environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial planning process across PEP supply chain. Provide clear guidance at the beginning of the process to all finance leads. Support the FD in reviews and analysis of plan / forecast and in preparation of manufacturing group review. Ensure a high quality of plan / forecast delivered within timelines.
  • Ensure monthly rolling forecast process runs effectively to provide clear direction of results for next month and year-end, with risks and opportunities included.
  • Provide sign-off of monthly, quarterly and full year P&L and balance sheet reporting. Lead the actuals review with 17 sites and EM customer supply chain markets as part of month-end closing process. Identify key drivers of business performance and provide clear and actionable insights into performance versus plan, forecast and target. Take accountability for accuracy of results reported.
  • Work closely with EM commercial finance to drive enterprise thinking and effective coordination on issues such as volumes, in-market distribution, strengthening CCC, inventory optimization and supply chain support for commercial opportunities to realize incremental value for GSK.
  • Works with Vx supply chain finance on planning and monitoring of actuals costs relating to distribution that is incurred in LOCs and cross-charged to Vx. Works closely with ViiV team on tracking of all HIV costs and for inclusion in the monthly back-out process to ViiV.
  • Work closely with PEP supply chain leads to drive supply chain strategy and performance including site productivity, capital investment, inventory, volume forecasts, risk management, quality, in-bound freight and distribution.
  • Maintain oversight of capital investments to ensure projects are executed as approved and with appropriate controls in place.
  • Support special initiatives or projects like internal benchmarking, working capital optimization, business waste reduction, network strategy or restructuring projects as and when needed.
  • Work closely with LoC Finance, ICSS and close-and-control hubs to drive process improvement in relation to Financial reporting for supply chain, especially in-market inventory and market allocations of supply chain costs.
  • Provide coaching and development to PEP supply chain finance teams as and when needed.
