Job Details

My client, a leading charity in Scotland is seeking to appoint in an interim Finance Director for a 9 month period to cover a period of transformation and change. The role is seeking a suitable level candidate who is available at short notice and can commit for a minimum of 9 months.

Description

  • Review, develop and implement financial policies and procedures for the organisation.
  • Prepare the annual budget and 3 year financial plan and constructively challenge and engage with budget holders.
  • Oversee day to day management of the organisations finances, ensuring that monthly management accounts and other reports are prepared to agreed timetables
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements, liaise with external auditors and contribute to the Annual Report
  • Manage relationships with professional advisers and external agencies including bankers, investment manager, insurers and HMRC.
  • Work with the fundraising department to maximise unrestricted income and secure sufficient restricted income to support the delivery of charitable objectives.
  • Provide internal audit services to ensure compliance with key controls and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the organisation has effective governance processes around key strategic areas and is in compliance with all legislation.

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant - ICAS/ ACCA/ CIMA etc
  • Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, with the ability to present complex information in simple terms to a variety of audiences
  • Experienced in preparation of business & financial plans, budgets, staff structures and committee procedures
  • Experienced staff manager with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of effective staff management including team cooperation, performance, delegation and managing staff and resources from a variety of disciplines
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with sound judgement who can make clear and well-considered recommendations in uncertain circumstances

Job Offer

Salary/ day rate is flexible DOE.
