Job Details

My client in Reading is recruiting for a fully remote Finance Analyst on a 3-month temporary contract with the possibility of a permanent position at the end. They are looking for someone who is part qualified with experience using SAP and dealing with stakeholders.

Description

  • Financial cost card ownership and accountability for system data (Oracle) for all live repack SKUs. Liaising cross-functionally to provide timely reporting of variances and PV drivers, along with ad hoc analysis as required
  • Support the understanding of risks and opportunities within Plan/Forecast with onward communication with recommendations of potential trade-offs
  • Liaising with supply chain and the BIFG teams to ensure that financial systems are getting the correct data from point of purchase through receipting of goods to the payment of the invoice - Supporting the timely remedy and escalation to LM when errors occur
  • Completion of period close accounting - Prepare and reconcile SOX controlled BIFG Accrual, preparing the journal, and identifying key movements and drivers ahead of review with LM ready for journal to be posted. Periodic completion of associated balance sheet reconciliation and SOX controls. Posting periodic accrual/ cross charge journals as well as periodic resolution of any issues and escalate to LM as applicable
  • Key member of the Supply Chain Finance team, driving forecasting and reporting improvements through system enhancements and other ad hoc financial analysis relating to COGS.

Profile

  • Strong academic background and excellent analytical skills (particularly numerical)
  • Strong communication skills. The ability to liaise confidently and assertively across markets, functions and levels.
  • High level of proficiency with data manipulation using software packages - Excel in particular essential. Accounting systems experience will be learnt on the job.
  • Assertive and independent with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage a very broad agenda, and single-mindedly ensure key objectives are delivered.
  • Ability to prioritise support requests, align priorities and push back where resources are insufficient
  • Ideally prior knowledge of SAP system
