Job Details

My client is looking for an experienced ambitious professional with a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail. As the Financial Accountant, you will report to the Financial Director and form part of a small finance team. The role will have significant input into the financial controls and systems/management. A varied and wide ranging role, with some responsibility for training and developing other members of the finance team.

Description

As the Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Balance Sheet controls and associated link in to the monthly management accounts
  • Improve existing systems and controls, in areas such as fixed assets approval and registers, Accounts payable processes, funding income controls and others
  • Assistance with annual Budgets and Forecasts
  • Assistance with financial year-end and external audit
  • Corporation tax analysis and provision of associated information
  • PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) collation of information (alongside the FC)
  • Support a payroll team of two in conjunction with the FC and conduct detailed monthly payroll reviews prior to approval
  • Assist in finance projects current and future, for example new payroll system, new expenses package and fixed asset software
  • Train and develop members of the finance team
  • Statutory returns and statistical forms

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Tax experience
  • Strong commercial and performance mindset and enjoys business success.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
  • Previous accounts related experience.
  • The ability to prioritise, and to shift focus quickly when priorities change.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to change and strong sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of IT literacy, be comfortable using Excel for analysis.
