A Global FMCG business based in Manchester City Centre is looking for an In House Tax Manager to join a supportive and growing tax department. This will be a hybrid home/office working role depending on your preference.

This is a global FMCG business based in Manchester City Centre.

Description

The successful In House Tax Manager will be responsible for:

- Managing a team of 2 that is responsible for delivery of tax compliance and the statutory reporting cycle.

- The compliance cycle relates to Corporate tax, VAT Excise returns for the UK group and overseas subsidiaries.

- Undertaking risk-based reviews to drive process improvements and to support the annual submission of the Senior Accounting Officer certificate.

- Contribute to business projects, ensuring the tax implications are identified and addressed.

- Preparation of computations to support tax disclosures in Group and subsidiary statutory accounts.

- Preparation of UK corporate tax returns and management of submission of overseas tax returns

- Improve processes to improve the efficiency of corporate tax compliance

- Undertake tax planning to ensure tax assets are optimized

- Support the annual sign off of the Senior Accounting Officer certificate

- Undertake country by country reporting

- Transfer pricing calculations including TP documentation

- Assisting with overseas tax filings

- Preparation of installment tax payments

Tax reporting

* Tax reporting and accounting for the UK Group, undertaking an annual review of deferred tax assets
- Tax reporting and accounting for the individual subsidiaries

Indirect tax returns (VAT, Customs Duties, and Excise tax returns)

* Review of monthly VAT and Excise tax returns for the UK and Ireland
- Undertake risk-based reviews of customs duties paid in Ireland
- Review quarterly GST returns for Australia
- Improve compliance process and undertake risk-based reviews of compliance and accounting processes to ensure returns are correct Plastic Tax returns

* Review the quarterly returns
Undertake risk-based reviews of processes to ensure returns are correct

PAYE

* Review PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations prior to submission
* Review data for Taxed Award Scheme and prepare HMRC submission
* Support Company Secretarial to complete and submit share scheme returns

Advisory
Support Head of Tax in the provision of advice to the business including but not limited to:
* Recover-ability of VAT on business costs, VAT liability of new products, VAT liability of promotional activity
* PAYE queries relating to benefits in kind
* Corporate tax issues relating to business activities
* Changes to legislation Lead and manage a team
* Ensure the workload of the team is manged efficiently
* Conduct 121's, provide feedback on performance and set annual objectives
* Develop the team

Profile

The successful In House Tax Manager will be:

* Exceptionally strong proven financial capability with strong tax knowledge

* Have experience gained from working for a top/mid-tier accounting firm and/or a tax function in industry

* Be proactive, forward-thinking mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving

* An eye for detail with the ability not to get lost in the detail

* Determination to see things through, getting things finished and completed

* Ability to meet deadlines and keep calm under pressure

Job Offer

£50,000 - £55,000 + £5,500 car allowance + 5 % bonus + 7.5% pension and other fantastic benefits
