Our Howick based client is looking for the skills of an experienced bookkeeper to assume overall responsibility and accountability for the financial administration functions and to ensure finance reporting and deadline payments are met with accuracy. The position is required to implement measures and processes to ensure the clients financial obligations are fulfilled in line with statutory requirements.
* Ensure invoicing is done on behalf of selected clients
* Ensure that statements go out on time
* Reconcile client bank statements
* Field and resolve any queries related to debtors and creditors
* Follow up on outstanding payments
* Process credit notes as and when required
* Produce age analysis of income statement and balance sheet in line with agreed timelines
* Complete VAT reconciliations and returns
* Liaise with SARS regarding queries
* Do balance sheet recons
* Check completed work of other bookkeepers
* Complete VAT reconciliations of other bookkeepers and VAT returns and remit for payment
* Liaise with client on VAT and related issues
* VAT deregistration
*CIPC*
* Submit annual returns
* Ensure all submissions are done in a precise and accurate manner
* Ensure annual schedules are updated to ensure that there are no expires
*Staff Management*
* Agree action plans with management and ensure that staff execute agreed plans
* Ensure staff adhere to deadlines
* Ensure work submitted by staff is accurate
* Ensure that staff are managed appropriately and that all training interventions are communicated to management
* Manage staff discipline in terms of company disciplinary code
* Assist with staff matters as and when they arise
