Job Details
As the Trainee Accountant, you will assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and support the management accountants on various monthly and yearly accounting duties.
In addition, the role will assist the operational department with credit card processing, treasury reconciliations, purchase and sales ledgers and banking processes.

Description
As the Trainee Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Prepare monthly P&L reports for allocated operational departments, monitoring costs, ensuring accuracy of financial data, investigating variances to target and writing monthly commentary for the budget holders.
To manage the process of quarterly forecasting for allocated departments.
To assist in the annual companywide budget preparation and manage budget preparation for allocated departments.
To be the main finance contact for the budget holders of allocated departments.
To ensure relevant invoices are either accrued for or pre-paid into the correct accounting periods on a monthly basis.
To process revenue reports for analysis and reporting on a monthly basis.
To assist in the reconciliation of quarterly expenditure reports.
To assist with the monthly reconciliation of control accounts and inter-company accounts within the company balance sheet.
To process the monthly credit card expenses, corresponding with card holders to attain analysis in a timely manner.
Regular reporting to the office for national statistics.
Regular record keeping re staff entertaining and benefits, for the annual PSA (payment settlement agreement) report.
Production and analysis of ad hoc reports from finance systems as required.
The jobholder may be required to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of them.
Profile
To be successful in your application for Trainee Accountant, you should have:
- 12 months+ experience in a Finance role
- AAT Level 3 or above (ACCA/CIMA support on offer also)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good Excel skills
