Overall, this role offers the ideal transition into industry & offers exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, exposure to interesting projects, and work with a supportive team of like minded individuals (many of which are ex practice too)

The hiring manager is a great coach & has already talked through the potential progression prospects available (either within group finance, commercial finance, or FP&A)

The key responsibilities for this phenomenal ACA / ACCA first time mover Group Financial Accountant role are as follows;

    • Accurate and timely month end reporting
    • Completion of reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
    • Smooth running of year end audit, meeting deadlines and audit requirements
    • Efficiencies in IFRS 16 reporting
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK financial reporting requirements
  • Control month end reporting process
  • Work with Group Financial Accounting Manager to implement process improvements
  • Managing half-year and year-end Risks & Ops reviews
  • Managing IFRS 16 processes
  • Managing the year-end audit, being main contact for Group audit team
  • Analysis of additional statutory reporting to ensure accurate and complete data for Interim and Annual Reports
  • Ad hoc requests and support for Finance-related projects

Profile

The most important thing for our forward-looking retail client is to find the right culture fit, however, newly qualified ACA / ACCA accountants may be asked to show an ability to exhibit some of the following skills

  • A sound technical knowledge base - IFRS and UK GAAP
    • Dedicated, pro-active and reliable, completing work to a high standard
    • Motivated to continuously improve processes
    • Drive and maintain a strong relationship with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to group policies and compliance with IFRS requirements
    • Excellent analytical and organisation skills
    • Ability to partner with senior stakeholders and add value on projects

Job Offer
