Hours: 37.5 hours; Monday - Friday; between the hours 8.00am - 8.00pm with flexibility to work weekends as and when required.

Our Personal Insurances Team is responsible for providing advice to customers to make great personal insurance decisions based on individual needs to ensure the right insurance protection is in place for the future.

Te Kaiurungi | About the Role

As a Personal Insurance Specialist, you will be taking inbound phone and video calls from customers as well as making outbound calls to support customers to make great personal insurance-based decisions on their needs.

In this role, is important that you possess excellent listening skills with the ability to empathise with our customers during conversations. This is a highly specialised role and a passion for continuous insurance learning and the ability to navigate multiple systems are essential.

Key accountabilities:
  • Provide personal insurance recommendations to customers using BNZ Insurance systems
  • Assist customers to understand the differences between available types of cover and the amounts of cover that may be appropriate based on personal needs
  • Assist customers in understanding the key benefits, features, options and exclusions that may apply to recommended insurance products
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all referred customers to build confidence within BNZ referral channels of the need for protection and the service provided through the specialist insurance HUB.

  • You're an experienced insurance adviser who is comfortable providing protection advice to customers, getting it right the first time for our internal and external customers, and having inspiring conversations
  • Possess an eye for detail to ensure data integrity
  • Customer-focused with a strong service ethic, outstanding communication skills, and a reputation for excellence
  • Willingness to complete New Zealand Certificate Financial Services (level 5) in life and health insurance

To ensure your success in this role, you will always put the customer first and demonstrate superior problem-solving ability. You'll be a team player who enjoys and appreciates an energetic and busy working environment. You'll also be comfortable and competent with technology.
