Nicholas Howard Limited are delighted to be recruiting for a new and exciting role as a Finance Specialist.

This role is based in Guildford and operates a hybrid working structure. The successful candidate will be working with the current Chief Finance Officer and duties will include the following:

  • Assist with the day-to-day accounting and operational finance aspect of the business.
  • Have demonstrable experience of providing support within a finance team across a range of accounting and operational finance activities.
  • Able to contribute to routine and ad-hoc reporting, monthly accounting cycles, and processing of financial transactions.
  • Experience within mortgage / finance industry beneficial.
  • Support the improvement and streamlining of existing manual processes across finance and accounting by providing automated solutions through existing financial platforms.
  • Participate in all internal meetings, as required, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
  • Willing and interested in progressing and taking on project work, including funding transactions and working with investors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Strong mathematical and Excel skills.
  • P/Q or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Process-minded and solid financial acumen with ability to explain business systems and information.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.
  • Comfortable with working directly with Stakeholders across all levels of the organization on requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work very well in a team or independently, consulting and involving others appropriately in the wider function and business.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Relevant product knowledge and understanding of financial processes and systems.
  • Good knowledge of best practice accounting processes and principles.
  • Good knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • Understands the commercial environment and actively shares new ideas or challenges where appropriate.
