Job Description

On a day-to-day basis, they will be the main contact for a number of legal entities within the BAE Systems Group, with the responsibility for the delivery of a number of the following activities to service level agreements

• Prepare the Statutory accounts of a number of BAE legal entities under FRS 101 and 102 using the supporting accounting records
• Meet with senior business unit personal and walk them through the legal entities statutory accounts
• Prepare initial analysis of PSA returns
• Preparation of taxation packs to facilitate group tax submission
• Prepare P11Ds and calculation of Class 1a NI liability
• Assist with group tax queries through data interrogation and liaising with relevant Business Units
• Liaise with external auditors in order to ensure the statutory accounts can be authorised by the deadline
• Provide assistance as required to the external auditors in resolution of their questions, either though data interrogation, supplying of back up of figures from the ERP systems or via speaking directly to the business
• Attend year end board meetings

The Individual

Qualifications & Expierence

As a Financial Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• ACCA or ACA (Finalist - with relevant practical experience)
• Experience of working in a customer service excellence environment
• Experience in SAP or a similar ERP system is preferable
• Flexibility with an appetite for change
• Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem solving skills
