Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Accountant to join their Finance Department. Working across multiple entities the role will ensure the highest standards in maintaining and developing the finance systems and associated processes to meet organisational requirements, providing training, and developing and overseeing arrangements for systems administration.
Responsibilities will include:
- Subject matter expert in relation to ERP system and key point of contact for Finance Team in relation to systems enquiries
- Providing new user training on financial systems
- Supporting the identification and delivery of end-user and superuser training requirements, in relation to the ERP system and associated reporting tool
- Ensuring system administration arrangements are in line with delegated authorities and providing an effective control environment
- Representing Finance in key IT related projects which effect finance systems
- Developing best practice and ensuring consistency in finance system processes across all teams and entities
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation of financial processes, including user guides
- Engaging with system user groups and contributing to the management of arising opportunities and risks
- Providing support to end-uses in the development and testing or reports
- Supporting finance system upgrades, notably in completing system testing and managing user acceptance testing programme
- Working with teams to review, design and document finance system workflows
- Contributing to developing solutions to improve/automate financial process
- Helping the teams evaluate, design, plan, implement and test new requirements
- Undertaking and assisting with managing business change projects related to finance systems, including initial project viability/benefits
Person Specification
- Qualified accountant
- A strong business partner with a high level of interpersonal skills who can interact and gain the confidence and trust of a wide range of stakeholders and diverse user base/skillset
- Extensive experience in managing, operating, and improving financial systems
- Experience of successfully integrating finance systems with other in-house systems
- An understanding of financial controls and reflecting these through workflows and controls in finance systems
- Excellent information technology skills including advanced Excel and a good understanding of databases, data uploads, extraction, and interfaces with other systems
- Excellent team working skills including the ability to contribute proactively and supportively to the delivery of company initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, numerical, and critical reasoning skills
- Ability to identify innovative yet practical solutions to complex problems
- Keen to suggest improvement to current ways of working
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and tasks
- A completer finisher
- Open and flexible to the changing demands of the organisation
- Proactive and flexible approach to work
- Sequel knowledge would be advantageous
Salary
£50,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits
Location
Malmesbury (100% office based)
