The Silver Crane Co is a global designer and supplier of chocolate and biscuit gifts, selling to over 26 countries around the world. The business is growing and profitable. We occupy 2 premises in Dorset and Hampshire including some acquired 45,000 square foot of new warehousing, to pack the chocolate and biscuits into gift packaging. The customer base is predominantly well known retail brands.

The expansion of the business has reached a stage where the company would greatly benefit from the employment of a commercially driven, enthusiastic Finance Manager to help take the business to the next level of its development. This role should appeal to a qualified Accountant (minimum 2 years PQE) or a person qualified by experience both with suitable experience in industry preferably gained in an SME environment.

Key aspects of the role are:

• Produce Detailed Monthly/Quarterly Management Accounts
• Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts to include cashflows.
• Act as Stock Controller in managing all aspects of Stock Control.
• To work with the Warehouse Manager in the efficient operation of our Warehouse Management Systems. Setting costing standards and reviewing their effectiveness.
• Control and manage the Sales Order Book.
• To manage our complex and wide covering insurance arrangements
• To be involved in enhancing current business systems, processes and procedures.

Familiarity with working for a family business and knowledge of Sage software would be beneficial. Due to our location and the need to visit our warehouse on a regular basis the applicant must have the use of a car. Personal qualities include integrity, team working, analytical ability, tenacious to bring about changes in processes and procedures, excellent communication and good interpersonal skills.
