Phipps & Cameron are delighted to be partnering with a leading Consumer Retail based in Central London who are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager within their financial control team.

With headquarters based in Central London, our client are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to partner with the finance teams and wider business through maintaining a strong financial control environment.

The Senior Finance Manager will be directly responsible in aiding the transformation and business growth of new business initiatives. It will involve identifying key risks and mitigating controls through efficient control processes.


Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and managing a team of 6 including 2 direct reports, responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the enhancement of a finance controls strategy and framework across the business, including supporting wider finance and the leadership team
  • Delivering on the finance strategy objectives set
  • Providing key support to the Group Financial Controller and Group Finance Director on UK SOX
  • Supporting and advising on the appropriate governance, processes and controls to mitigate financial risk
  • Delivering and developing the annual controls testing workplan and delivery of controls framework
  • Supporting wider business and senior finance stakeholders with controls/improvement queries and requests
  • Presenting recommendations on key control issues and best practice
  • Driving a culture of risk and controls mitigation across the finance team
  • Develop, manage and mentor a growing team which will include recruitment and development of new/existing team members

This role would suit a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) that has extensive financial controls experience.


Strong working knowledge to relevant technical standards including US and UK SOX.

The Senior Finance Manager must be strong people person with the ability to influence at senior level. Willingness to challenge, effectively communicate and problem solving skills is ideal both in translating to the team and senior audiences. Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively as well as independently is key.
