Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology groups develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. We have re-imagined how to provide technology and service in our domain through the alignment of our team vision, culture, and aggressive retirement plan for legacy applications and adoption of a micro-based containerized cloud environment. Job Purpose:

Operational Resilience is a strategic programme with transformative implications that presents an organisational opportunity to make us more competitive and better for clients. We do this by understanding each other's vulnerabilities and strengthening our controls to meet client needs under any circumstances. The Senior Manager for Markets Operations and Operational Tech Operational Resilience role involves deep dive reviews on operations, including Asset Servicing and looking at the end-to end resilience of the transaction or trade-life-cycle. The role will require deep operations experience, project management skills, and strong communication skills, coordinating and participating in UAT.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and driving solutions to regulatory programmes and initiatives on operational resilience with Markets & Banking Front Office, Markets In-Business Control, 2nd Line Operational Risk, 2nd Line Compliance, ICG Operations and Technology, etc.
  • Driving technology solutions and reporting status at weekly and monthly review meetings.
  • Supporting colleagues across Citi in developing and maturing the operational resilience capabilities
  • Supporting the successful delivery of a variety of resilience projects aligned to Citi's overarching operational resilience strategic roadmap.
  • Supporting the legal entity heads and MSS P&L owners to ensure Citi's important Business Services, have impact tolerances set (in conjunction with client relationship managers in BCMA, CPB and CCB) and that their underlying people, skillsets, 3rd parties and processes are accurately end-to-end mapped
  • Working closely with legal entity heads, business leads and specialist teams across Citi to support the monitoring of Operational Resilience, and driving an innovative data-driven approach to metrics and reporting.
  • Contributing to Citi's approach to considering the management of "failure" by design, such that Citi is able to act in an agile and adaptable manner, to prevent, respond recover and learn from operational disruption events, in a way that clients want to do more business with Citi, and develop deeper trust in us. Note, operational disruption is any type of event from climate change, geopolitical, client issue, changes in local markets (i.e., capital controls), tech outage, transition out of legacy tech into new tech, 3rd party, FMI, data breach and data privacy, cyber etc.
  • Challenging and reviewing inherent and residual risk end-to-end (across the MCAs that make up a business service), and risk-rating processes from the client's perspective, to ensure our resilience enables effective risk management during events and incidents to prevent disruption to customers

Organizational Oversight:

  • Executing day-to-day operational resilience activities while maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis.
  • Developing an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements; delivery of periodic presentations to external regulators as required
  • Ensuring the infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and service our clients to a high standard

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Tier 1 global financial institutions
  • Experience delivering strategic change programmes spanning multiple years in a fast paced, large global financial services firm, ideally in an operations organisation
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
  • Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success interacting with senior management both in the business, corporate functions as well as the Operations, Business and Technology environments
  • Strong risk management and control mind set
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as a leader, advisor and business partner to the organization with a clear client orientation.
  • Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
  • Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization's model and its future development.
