Construction focused Commercial Underwriters are now sought to join a rapidly growing MGA, who are part of one of the UKs premier broking groups.

They are happy to speak to anyone with Construction based underwriting experience, and you can be based from their London office, Essex office, or fully remote.

They have written a lot of business this year, so are now looking for 2 new Underwriters to come on board to focus on existing business, and these renewals.

You will be responsible for focusing on the management of existing Broker relationships, and making sure the retention rates stay where they need to be. You will be required to Underwrite renewal risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities, manage and ensure complete documents produced and recorded with regard to renewal, handle mid-term adjustments, negotiate renewals and proactively chase renewal confirmation to maintain a profitable book of business

You will also be required to maintain relationships with brokers, insurers and other business partners as well as provide support to junior members including referrals.

You will be able to display a solid track record in a similar role, with relationship development and underwriting as the 2 key aspects of the role. You should have a good technical knowledge of construction-based risks and the ability to drive forward broker relationships. The ideal person will also currently be in a similar role already working for an MGA.A minimum 5 years proven underwriting experience, preferably in Casualty and Construction lines including Combined Liability, Contractors All Risks and Excess of Loss will be needed.

In return, the salary on offer is £40-50k, plus bonus and extensive benefits package.
