Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Accountant to work with the Childrens Social Care Service in Norwich, Norfolk. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £22.14 per hour (PAYE and umbrella pay options are available).
The role:
The core focus of the role is to work closely with services to support day to day budgeting and accounting requirements, as well as working on a range of transformational change projects. As a local authority, the Council are accountable to tax payers and it's critical that they're are able to maintain a high standard of professional accounting, and that finances and budgets are transparent and accurate. You could be working closely with any services, but it's anticipated that initially this role will support Children's Services Social Care.
To be considered for the role, you'll need a proven background working as an Accountant or similar working as part of a finance team, and you'll be qualified at CCAB level. You'll be competent providing both management and financial accounting functions, you'll be comfortable analysing complex financial and non-financial data, and you'll have experience using your analysis to support and influence decisions. You'll also be keen to contribute towards the continual improvement and evolution of the finance function, and you'll be comfortable managing a small team.
Key
Responsibilities:
Provide coordinated and consistent financial advice, management information, support and challenge to Officers and Members of the Council
To support the implementation of change programmes, improving service quality and promoting a culture that drives up standards and performance.
To assist in developing and supporting benefits realisation within the overall transformation programme
To support organisational development through contributing to Directorate and Council wide projects
When required attend Member meetings and officer working groups
Prepare in conjunction with Service Directors and the Finance Manager/Principal Accountant annual revenue and/or capital budgets in a form and timescale laid down by the council
In conjunction with the Finance Manager/Principal Accountant, to prepare the Council's medium term financial plan (MTFP)
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Qualified accountant to CCAB Level.
- Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
- Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references.
- Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
