Meraki Talent's client is currently looking to hire a Manager for the Investment & Operational Taxes area. Our client is a well regarded UK Banking group. They serve a diverse client base across Retail, Commercial and Corporate channels in a manner which puts sustainability and a commitment to delivering on customer promises at the heart of all they do.

Operational Taxes Team sits within Group Tax and is responsible for the oversight of Operational Tax risks of the Group as whole. This role involves working as part of a team which provides informative, high quality, sophisticated output and advice and operates as an Ops Tax Specialist. The main focus of the role will be on Investment Taxes for the Insurance and Wealth business. The role will provide oversight on the tax processes completed by the appointed custodians including the receipt of investment income net of withholding tax, tax reporting and tax compliance processes for I&W OEICs and investment funds.

The role will also lead withholding tax processes for areas not covered by the custodians, therefore you will be working closely with project teams, advisory teams and Big 4 advisors on developments impacting on the investment portfolio.

For this role my client is seeking a career minded individual who has technical tax knowledge for OEICs along with considerable experience of custodian working practices and the withholding tax rules for collective investment schemes. This experience could have been gained in a professional services firm or preferably in the Financial Services sector. From a softer skills perspective you will need to be a strong relationship manager with strong communication skills and the ability to see the bigger picture to make commercially astute decisions.
