Our Financial Services ("FS") Valuations Modelling and Economics ("VME") business, part of EY's Strategy and Transactions ("SaT") service line, works with major banking and capital markets, global insurance businesses, and financial investors, advising these clients on a range of valuation matters across commercial, strategic, financial reporting, tax, and operational purposes.

The opportunity

Increased regulatory scrutiny in relation to bespoke and complex products in banking and capital markets sector creates a market opportunity to grow our complex securities valuation services, and we are seeking to hire an experienced specialist with financial engineering and derivatives pricing experience to join us and help to drive this growth.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Executive (Manager) within the FS VME team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering complex valuation projects for our clients, typically relating to valuation and pricing of equity and interest rate derivatives, structured products, credit instruments and management incentive schemes.

You will work closely with Directors and Partners in the FS VME team on these engagements. As a Complex Securities valuation subject matter expert, you will also advise colleagues and Partners across SaT and EY's other service lines, Assurance, Tax, and Consulting, on a range valuation issues impacting their clients and projects.

Over time, you will develop a strong network with key stakeholders across both EY and our clients, actively pursuing revenue opportunities and engaging in business development activities to support growth.

You will also take on team management responsibilities, helping grow and develop our cohort of Analysts and Executives, supporting with training, mentoring, counselling, and recruiting new team members.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

• Demonstratable valuation experience in a client-facing role at another Big Four firm, investment bank, or valuation boutique
• Qualification in Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or other highly numerate science.
• Strong knowledge of software such as Python/MATLAB/R, and Excel.
• Highly numerate with a strong technical knowledge and experience of applying analytical and modelling techniques to provide insights to business issues.
• Ability to demonstrate intellectual rigour and commercial awareness.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Exceptional technical expertise in valuation and pricing of complex securities and derivatives.
• Strong financial modelling skills with expert knowledge of Excel.
• Programming skills, with expert knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
• Highly driven and enthusiastic team player who enjoys working collaboratively within a diverse team.
• Very strong attention to detail... but possessing the ability to step back and see the big picture.
• Structured and organised, with strong project management and execution skills.
• Risk management mindset.
