We are now recruiting for a Category and Pricing Manager to join our team.

The role will be required to operate as part of a team of category managers, sales and operational teams to deliver the best possible local range of products, competitively priced, and with high levels of on shelf availability.

The Role

We are now recruiting for a Category and Pricing Manager to join our team.

The role will be required to operate as part of a team of category managers, sales and operational teams to deliver the best possible local range of products, competitively priced, and with high levels of on shelf availability.

  • Pricing - Actively engage in the development and implementation of the Group pricing policy within 'your' brand/banner.
  • Ranging - Research and develop 'your' brand/banners range assortment policy to ensure industry leading levels of product are available to our customers, balanced with optimised profitability and working capital for the group.
  • Communication - Operate as the key commercial contact for the sales, operations and procurement teams on sales pricing, range assortment and supplier selection and branch layout.
  • Commercial Compliance - Advising, engaging and implementing the agreed supplier portfolio on behalf of the group into the brand/banner in which you operate daily.

Location

The role will be based at our Head Office in High Wycombe, but will also involve working from home as well as visiting our branches across the home counties.

Measurements of Success:

  • Compliance with Legislation/Company/Health and Safety Procedures & Policies.
  • Working with operations, exceed budgeted sales, margin and inventory targets.
  • increase rebateable spend with NBG suppliers within PM's Category Management sector.
  • To maintain and improve relationships with suppliers.
  • To secure promotional offers from suppliers beneficial to the company profit margin.
  • Meeting deadlines on all aspects of the role.
  • To demonstrably identify and increase average selling prices on product groups within the PM sector.
  • To ensure company stock days stay within targeted maximum.

Qualifications/Technical Skills/Experience

  • Preferably of graduate calibre with a business orientated degree. MCIPS, CILT, or similar qualification advantageous.
  • Proven experience of Category or Commercial Management success within a retail or a multi-site distributor essential.
  • Must have a deep understanding of the principles of Category Management and have delivered a Category strategy through strong supplier partnerships.
  • Expertise at managing cross departmental relationships in order to deliver shared objectives.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills - able to listen and engage.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate this into business wide action plans that deliver growth.
  • ?Change Management experience essential - expertise to plan and deliver complex projects on a large scale, identify and eliminate risk.
  • PRINCE2 or similar qualifications preferred.
  • Analytical ability to assimilate data from a variety of sources and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Strong IT skills to include MS Office, ecommerce platforms, ePOS ideally Kerridge commercial systems, Phocas and Tableau BI systems.
  • An attitude to engage in change, deliver results, challenge and be challenged.
  • Make decisions, implement them and take full accountability for the results.
  • Have fun and engage with, learn from and coach other colleges in a results focussed collegiate environment.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested to aid in the efficient and profitable trading of the Company.
