Purchase Ledger Clerk

Temporary - Permanent

Manchester City Centre



Salary:
£25,000 per annum

Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Our client, a successful property company, based in the City is looking to expand their team due to growth, to meet the exciting challenges ahead. Now recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk on a temporary to permanent basis.

This role will be based in Central Manchester until April 2022 when the office is relocating to Altrincham

Job Description:

You will be working in their Manchester office on predominantly residential and occasional commercial construction projects. The responsibilities of this team cover the whole of the Build to Rent operations for Purchase Ledger.

The role will involve invoice/delivery note matching; checking invoices; inputting invoices; supplier reconciliation, dealing with supplier queries, ad-hoc payments and associated purchase ledger administration.

Key Roles &

Responsibilities:

  • Organise/collate all incoming invoices, matching to goods received notes.
  • Ensure correct approvals obtained prior to processing.
  • Regular interaction with commercial and production departments to obtain authorisations and resolve queries.
  • Inputting invoice details onto our financial management/accounting system, ensuring VAT is correctly applied.
  • Undertake monthly supplier reconciliations, addressing/resolving email and telephone queries as required.
  • Compiling reports as required; organise/collate back up to support payment runs; monitor and clear down unallocated cash.
  • Organise/archive paid invoices/credit notes accordingly.
  • Maintain Insurances tracker book, ensure it is up to date, file new copies of insurances and chase ones that have expired.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role is required
  • There is no minimum qualification required, however the successful candidate will need to be numerate, organised, diligent, methodical and able to work as part of a busy team
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly Excel, knowledge of Coins would be an advantage but not essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the construction industry would be an advantage but not essential
