As the Head of Financial Planning, you will provide a Financial Analysis Centre of Excellence for the Global Commercial finance team that enables clear expertise and resources in first line data driven analytical support to attain and sustain best-practice performance management and reporting, and value-add support for the commercial business partners.

My client are a well-established business based in Brighton working on a hybrid structure. They have created a new position for a Head of Financial Planning.

Description

As the Head of Financial Planning, your role responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring smooth and accurate month-end close (working with the Financial Control team)
  • Loading and validating budget and forecast data (financial and non-financial) into the Adaptive system, following up on any variances, discrepancies etc with the relevant Business Partners.
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs
  • Ownership of the Group revenue model, FTE and payroll cost modelling
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs with draft commentary and supporting analysis
  • Capturing financial and non-financial data, and providing analysis to understand trends
  • Ownership of processes to track, forecast, invoice and analyse the annual progression
  • Supporting the commercial business partners in the provision of robust, accurate and consistent KPI reporting, including the maintenance of self-service reporting and dashboards.
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement through the design and operation of all key processes supporting the business performance cycle.
  • Responsible for supporting the development of management and business intelligence data, systems, and analytics within the commercial finance team to develop and manage non-financial metrics to drive operational efficiency within the organisation. Drive a focus on developing tools and reports which enable greater self-service

Stakeholder Management

  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, Global Commercial Business partners, Global Financial Control team, and key budget holder contacts in the Global business to provide a best-practice business partnering service. Ensuring that support meets expectations and opportunities for collaboration and improvement are actively sought and implemented.

Leadership

  • Leading a global, multi-location centre of excellence to support the Global Commercial Finance team, and the value-add support that the team is providing to the wider business.
  • Supporting the technical and personal development of all team members, providing clear guidance on planned outcomes and expectations, regular coaching, feedback and personal development plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to uplift the capabilities of the existing Analysis team in enhancing the delivery of first-line data analysis, improved reporting and provision of insightful commentary.
  • Acting as the champion for continuous improvement and ideas sharing with respect to systems, processes, and people across the wider Commercial Finance team.

Profile

To be successful in your application for Head of Financial Planning, you should be:

  • A qualified accountant, working towards qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or otherwise qualified by experience.
  • Track record of leading the design and delivery of financial reporting and analytics processes in a fast-moving global or complex matrix organisation.
  • Proven ability to execute strategies and meet and/or exceed customers' expectations, with an eye on high quality delivery and documentation.
  • Track record of results based continuous process improvement, including significant experience integrating, managing, and optimising use of systems & automation
  • Change management experience.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in or leading a Finance Centre of Excellence/Shared Services model.
