Exciting Junior Accountant role with a forever growing CPG Organization!

Why this position?

This Junior Accountant will be responsible for general support of finance department. Duties will include month, quarter, year closes, preparing and entering monthly journal entries, QA of GL entries. As well, successful candidate will be involved with reconciliation with customer accounts, A/P, A/R duties and accrual process. Overall fixed assets responsibility.

This is a very exciting role for someone who has a bit of experience but is looking to grow in the accounting/finance space. There is much growth and learning available for someone who is ambitious and willing to touch all parts of accounting/finance.

Junior Accountant Responsibilities include:


  • Assist with month and year end process.
  • Prepare, monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and distribute daily sales/cost figure reports.
  • Review, prepare and report daily cash activity.
  • Prepare and report monthly cashflow forecast.
  • Weekly review of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of postings.
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies in GL accounts.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of sales tax filings/payments with third party partner.
  • Weekly/monthly reconciliation of company sites (Shopify) to ensure accuracy of data transmitted to accounting system.
  • Assist in monthly P&L and BS analytics of financial statements review.
  • Assist with fixed assets overall process.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of major customer accounts.
  • Assist with other A/R and A/P functions as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of accrual process.
  • Assist with internal/external audits
  • Additional ad hoc assignments.

Junior Accountant Preferred Skills:


  • Accounting degree required
  • 2-4 years overall accounting experience
  • A/R and A/P exp: 1 year
  • Proficient in MS office suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, have a thirst for learning, proven ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Analytical problem solver who constantly strives to improves processes and procedures.
  • Experience/exposure in manufacturing/CPG industry a plus.
