We are working with one of our favorite companies located just south of Huntsville. This is an incredibly stable and growing company looking to add another senior accountant to the team. In this role, you will have a fantastic mentor and boss and assist in many different areas outside of just month end close accounting work. You will need to be highly capable to work on projects, make process improvements and perform financial analysis and critical thinking. The ideal candidate displays initiative, problem solving skills, and strong communication skills with a good understanding of GAAP accounting and awareness for strict deadlines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations and assist in month-end closing procedures
• Analyze financial statements and provide concise explanations for variances
• Work in various systems to collect data and interpret current financial activity and performance
• Work on ad hoc projects and process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years general ledger accounting experience, CPA is a plus
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, public accounting experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to learn new technologies
• Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to comprehend instructions and work independently as well as on a team
