Description:

The Senior Accountant role supports our fast-growing global businesses with the development and execution of the proper processes and controls to support PXG’s business strategies.  The candidate will support the retail accounting process.  The role will support the development of financial reports, processes, and procedures while maintaining high-quality standards and appropriate internal control safeguards for Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG), a growing, global manufacturing and retail company. This role requires a combination of retail, manufacturing, supply chain and domestic and international business experience. Additionally, this position works cross-functionally within the PXG Accounting and Finance team to drive improvements throughout the department, supporting growth and standard processes. 

To be successful in this role, this individual must have strong accounting experience, background and understanding of the six business cycles and be analytical. This person should also be collaborative and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage various aspects of the accounting cycle for retail business units of several domestic and international entities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit/collections, fixed assets, inventory management, treasury, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
  • Provide support for retail stores
  • Train retail store management on cash handling and daily accounting procedures
  • Monitor changes in the sales environment to ensure the timely and accurate submission of monthly/quarterly/annual sales tax
  • Monitor retail development projects and ensure proper recording
  • Develop and compile weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports
  • Assist with audit research requests
  • Serve as back-up to other accounting team members
  • Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned 

 Experience and Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail accounting
  • Industry knowledge in retail, distribution and/ or consumer packaged goods.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations desired, Experience with ERP system a plus
  • Process mapping, developing work instructions and standard procedures.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems is required, experience with Acumatica is a plus
  • Prior experience with multi-state operations is a plus
  • Current CPA license or active candidate a plus
  • Six sigma or other lean/continuous improvement certifications a plus

  • Experience with automated accounting systems and point of sales systems is required, experience with Acumatica is a plus
