Role Description

Fitch Learning is undergoing an exciting transformation and we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our 'Operational Excellence' team. The team has been tasked with re-engineering Fitch Learning's operations to align people, processes and technology by leveraging a variety of automation techniques and tools including RPA, BPM workflow software etc. Lead by the Operations Excellence Director, the team comprises of a Project Manager, Solutions Architect and a few Developers. The Business Analyst will play a prominent role, acting as the intermediary between the team and the business. They will work closely with the various stakeholders to gather process requirements, analyze the requirements and propose appropriate solutions to improve process efficiency.

The team operates in a fast-paced environment and works towards short, medium and long-term deliverables.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in Operations and across Fitch to create an inventory of processes with detailed requirements which facilitate system and business process design, testing, and deployment
  • Conduct opportunity assessment of the processes, identifying potential automation opportunities
  • Work with senior stakeholders to translate end-user requirements to application, system or process enhancements
  • Review any existing documentation to confirm the documented process is consistent with the process currently followed by the relevant groups within the business
  • Create Process Description Documents (PDD) and Solution Design Documents (SDD)
  • Work with other Team members and users to understand business and, make recommendations for solutions or improvements that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative use of existing technology
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships to successfully drive the project to completion working to tight deadlines
  • Identify, mitigate and raise concerns of risks and issues related to the delivery of any projects to the assigned Project Manager
  • Where required, create workflows in MS Visio which are standardised and follow best practice methodologies
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Work with the business to create test scenarios and define acceptance criteria
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of BA techniques for driving delivery of requirements and solutions as quickly as possible and share standardized and best practices with other colleagues


Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Required
    • 5+ years of strong Business Analyst/ Project Management experience
    • Demonstrable experience in implementing change, process improvement
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Visio or similar workflow application, as well as MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Proficient in a range of techniques for business process improvement, requirements elicitation (e.g. interviews, workshops), requirements management and business modelling
    • Be familiar with the software development life cycle, project management principles or equivalent project management methodologies - Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
    • Ability to write, structure and present effective process documentation including business requirement documents (BRDs)
    • Knowledge of methodologies (Agile, specifically the Scrum Framework) and project management frameworks (e.g. PMI, PRINCE)
    • Experience explaining complex processes and circumstances in technical and layman's terms in an easy to understand way
    • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in the documentation
    • Ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities, maintaining a very high level of accuracy
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team as required (strong team player)
