Sector: Technology and Telecoms

Function: Finance and Information Systems

Snapshot: Sitting inside the finance function your team will pull together business information and supplier data and be responsible for business intelligence, customer billing, and supplier management from a cost & financial perspective. Operating in the tech sector and with an appetite for growth through acquisition, this is a challenging and thoroughly fascinating role that will allow the position holder to forge a long-term career in a role that they'll be able to shape and refine!

So what's it all about?

This role reports to the CFO and the wider board of directors for an organisation that has tripled in size in the last 18 months. The ideal person will require minimal supervision and guidance and will have a high degree of initiative to work to high-level objectives which fall into two main categories:

  • Accounting & Financial Information Management and Governance

  • Information management, business intelligence, and reporting

In addition to the above this the Business Information Manager will also be required to lead, manage, develop and grow the financial information management team.

While you'll be surrounded by financial data, customer billing, and invoicing this is a position that covers both finance and IT functions, from a data and business intelligence perspective. As such our perfect candidate will have come into business information management and business intelligence via an accounting of finance background and must love data and business intelligence.

How will the role evolve?

It is anticipated that this organisation will scale rapidly, potentially towards a sale at some point in the medium term. In the short term, there will be growth through acquisitions, which you'll be heavily involved in, given the data and information integration that is likely to happen. So w there will be significant project work involved, not least the initial establishment of information governance standards and more robust reporting using PowerBI.

The ideal candidate - we're looking for a Finance Analyst or Data Analyst who is looking to make the step into leadership or continue on the development journey into management. While this is still a hands-on role, you will lead by example and oversee the day-to-day activities of a small financial systems team. We are looking for previous knowledge and experience of business intelligence, finance but most importantly we're keen to find someone who isn't afraid of trying new things, solving problems, and diving right into the deep end! Any experience of customer billing systems would be a distinct advantage, but NOT essential.

The career opportunity and scale of growth cannot be overstated and with stock options, this could be a career and life-defining role. Amazing culture, incredible team, and exec team who have scales and sold numerous tech businesses previously.
