The Accounts Payable Specialist I compiles and maintains accounts payable records and processes vendor invoices for payment.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Process 1000-2000 vendor invoices/mo. utilizing company workflow guidelines
  • Receive invoices via email, distribute emails to the appropriate destination and manage the Accounts Payable inbox
  • Responsible for AP record keeping by scanning all payable invoices and expense reports into ePacket, maintaining AP filing cabinets with physical documents and check stubs.
  • Receive against PO and enter AP invoices in the Accounting System
  • Follow up on invoicing issues - Issues with orders and/or invoices which are sent to Order Manager
  • Process all payables including expense reports, internal payables, etc.
  • Assist in monthly closings
  • Assist with audits and special projects as necessary
  • Other job related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (OS navigation, Outlook, basic knowledge of Excel)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines


Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Ability to operate computers, related and general office equipment
  • Strong customer service skills. Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to remain sitting for long periods of time
  • Ability to understand verbal/written instructions
  • Basic math skill
