Job Details

A newly created Financial Controller position based in Bristol for a global manufacturing business with a considerable operation in the UK. The Financial Controller will be responsible for all UK Controlling and management for a team of 9.

Client Details

An international manufacturing business with a strong distribution presence in the UK. Due to a high level of growth they are looking for a Financial Controller to lead the UK accounting team.

Description

The Financial Controller will support the Senior Non-Finance Stakeholders, manage and develop a small finance team in different locations and be a key liaison for the finance teams across Europe. The Financial Controller will have responsibility for monthly & quarterly accounting, ensuring a robust control environment is in place, and implementing process changes and improvements. Main duties include:

  • Leading the Accounting team including for all finance areas across multiple UK locations for the entity.
  • Ensuring strong financial and process controls are in place.
  • Management accounting including analysis and reporting.
  • Producing weekly and monthly forecasts.
  • Preparation of month end financials to a tight reporting timetable.
  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements.
  • Monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation review.
  • Implementation of a new common ERP across all locations within the entities.

Profile

  • Professionally qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP & familiarity with US GAAP.
  • Strong controlling experience.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to operate at both hands on and strategic levels.
  • Experience of a service/ manufacturing background would be helpful.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience managing external and internal audits.
  • High level of energy drive and personal commitment to achieve success.
  • People leadership experience.
