Job Details

This Assistant management accountant position will require somebody who is Part qualified accountant up to intermediate level (ACCA / CIMA) with proven experience of working in a similar position within a Finance Accounting team.

This position duties and responsibilities will mainly be to process financial information to deliver monthly management accounts with commentary and comparative against budget/prior year within agreed time frame.

This client is a British online fashion and cosmetic retailer. The company was founded in 2000 in London, primarily aimed at young adults. The website sells over 850 brands as well as its own range of clothing and accessories, and ships to all 196 countries from fulfilment centres in the UK, USA and Europe.

This Assistant management accountant role would be based in their Oxford office.

Description

* Prepare monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, deferred costs and income reports and balance sheet reconciliations.

* Maintain the fixed asset register, recording acquisitions, disposals and calculating depreciation.

* Maintain the investments schedule, recording acquisitions and redemptions.

* Assist with the preparation of financial statutory reports, annual adjustments, budget preparation and supporting Managers with any queries, enabling them to manage their budgets effectively.

* Process online banking transactions.

* Cover for other members of the finance team during periods of absence and annual leave.

* Prepare year end reconciliations with supporting schedules and documentation. Liaise directly with auditors.

* Proactively develop and improve processes and procedures to deliver against objectives.

* Facilitate learning through gathering, documenting and transfer of knowledge throughout the team to ensure best practice is in place and agreed service levels are met.

* Regularly recording member contact ensuring that the interaction and outcomes are input to the membership database (CRM) to maintain records and reference member data.

* Following organisational process and procedures to ensure member expectations and agreed service level agreements are met.

* Managing and protecting member and customer information in accordance with HTA policy and General Data Protection Regulations.

* Undertaking such other duties, commensurate with the responsibilities above, as may from time to time be required by members of the HTA management team.

Profile

The successful candidate will be computer savvy and have the ability to work with accounting software. You need to love working with numbers, developing tax strategies, performing sensitivity analysis to support revenue projects. This would all need to be of interest to you.

Job Offer

Working hours: 35 hours per week.

Annual leave: 25 days and statutory bank holidays plus two discretionary days for Christmas (office shuts between Christmas and New Year).

Life assurance: four times annual salary.

Pension: AAT comply with its obligations and duties under auto-enrolment legislation in accordance with the Pensions Act 2008. The current qualifying arrangement for auto-enrolment purposes is AAT's Group Personal Pension Scheme.

If you chose to increase your contribution AAT will contribute up to a maximum of 10.15%. Further details would be given on joining the organisation.

Income protection: income protection is offered subject to terms of the policy. Other: company sick pay scheme season ticket loan after completion of probationary period enhanced maternity, paternity and dependency leave provisions.
