Our Senior Accounting Analyst will help lead key accounting functions and assist the Finance team with processing and analyzing common accounting transactions like invoicing of Revenues and analysis of associated Accounts Receivable, and Receipt of vendor invoices for Expenses, and analysis of associated Accounts Payable. The analyst must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with federal and state guidelines as well as HIPAA requirements. Primary Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Accounting and Transactional Support
  • Full ownership of key transactional and close areas as assigned
  • Prepares standard month-end journal entries pertaining to revenues and expense, books accruals and reclassification entries
  • Work with counterparts at Parent Organization and their General Ledger (PeopleSoft) to reconcile accounts, monitor entries, and sync ledgers
  • Prepare and execute both inbound and outbound cash/banking transactions, as necessary
  • Execute and consult with the broader Bind organization regarding customer setup items pertaining to Finance
• Medical and Pharmacy Claim Accounting
  • Assist in reconciliation of client funds used in the payment of Self-Funded clients' medical and pharmacy claims
  • Execute transactional record keeping, analysis, and related ledger entries for related business transactions such as reinsurance recoveries, subrogation, returned and refunded checks, and other items as appropriate
  • Work with payment partners to research, reconcile and resolve claim payment related issues as they occur
• General Accounting and Financial Analysis Activities
  • Generate financial statements and reports as needed/appropriate
  • File supporting documentation in digital and hard copy formats to various government/regulatory bodies
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Document and execute policy/procedure and related controls
  • Monthly account reconciliations on assigned areas of the general ledger

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience in related accounting roles
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office (skilled in Microsoft Excel)
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
• Experience with multiple accounting systems
• Experience with managing multiple concurrent projects/tasks and meeting deadlines
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Positive attitude, ability to self-manage and work in dynamic, changing environments

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $58,800 to $104,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
