Role Description & Responsibilities

Integral part of LSEG's Group M&A team, supporting all aspects of the team's activities to identify, evaluate and execute M&A transactions and strategic investments in support of LSEG's strategy:


• Actively involved in a wide range of LSEG M&A activities, including: M&A pipeline development, acquisitions, strategic investments, divestments and post-investment reviews


• Support delivery of transaction execution processes, including managing stakeholder co-ordination, M&A project plans and preparation of transaction assessment materials


• Create high quality transaction related financial models and appraisal materials to enable LSEG to effectively make decisions on potential M&A opportunities


• Take ownership of transaction workstreams on selected projects (e.g. execution of due diligence processes, business plan modelling) and proactively manage these activities


• Contribute to key artefacts for the Group M&A team to support delivery of a proactive M&A pipeline approach (e.g. pipeline materials, transaction databases and advisor updates)


• Build and develop a broad stakeholder network from business and functional teams across LSEG to support effective delivery of M&A activities

Experience and Skills
Experience


• ~2 years of M&A experience within either investment banking, professional advisory or corporate environments


• Previous experience within financial markets, with prior involvement in data and financial markets infrastructure M&A activities, considered advantageous


• Proficient working knowledge of M&A activities, with proven track record of effective contribution to the execution of successful M&A transactions


• Demonstrate a strong understanding of complex valuation methodologies and transaction structures

Skills


• Clear understanding of M&A processes and key activities, together with strong commercial awareness and acumen


• Strong written, verbal, informal and formal communication and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail


• Ability to analyse significant amounts of data quickly and accurately, and organise / present results objectively and appropriately to support strategic decision-making


• Able to work effectively and proactively as part of a team or independently across a number of varied projects at the same time, managing workload on sometimes conflicting priorities and overlapping deadlines


• Comfortable working under pressure and in context of tight timeframes


• Effective at building and developing relationships with a range of stakeholders across businesses and functions


• Advanced Excel skills: strong confidence with numerical data and Excel modelling skills to analyse and present numerical data in an accurate, coherent and informative way


• Advanced PowerPoint skills: ability to create high quality graphical and written representations of information and data to support creation of materials which provide a clear, robust and balanced set of analyses
