Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a fast-growing service company located south of Boston to identify an Assistant Controller. This is a newly created position that is open due to growth.

- Privately held environmental recovery organization that specializes in health & safety, risk management & recovery
- They have over 800 employees in 44 locations across 24 states plus British Columbia.
- In the past 2 years, our client has grown by 50% and has expanded into 4 additional states.
- Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller is expected to support financial analysis and improve and implement the internal business processes and procedures.

The Assistant Controller's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise, train and mentor a staff of 3 individuals and manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, Expense Reports, Credit Cards, etc.)
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close including journal entries, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and accounting consolidation
- Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a recurring basis as required
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements
- Manage the annual external Financial Statement and benefit plan audits,
- Oversee quarterly and annual Federal & State tax filings.
- Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
- Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Must have been in an accounting leadership position for at least 3 years.
