Creative Financial Staffing has been exclusively retained by a highly reputable e-commerce company to identify a Tax Senior Manager. This is a newly created position.

Overview:

• The Company: Highly reputable e-commerce company with $200-$500k in revenue. They have more than 400 employees in the state of CA.
• The Growth: Fast-growing company expanding both through acquisition and organic growth.
• Opportunity: As the first tax hire, we are looking for an ambitious, motivated Sr. Tax Manager to join our growing team. This role reports directly to the Controller and will be the first tax specialist hired by the organization. This individual will own all things tax in the organization and serve as a thought partner to other members of the finance organization and senior leadership.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the tax return process for the organization and work with outside CPAs on all things tax
• Responsible for all state and local tax filings including sales taxes, property tax, and other gross receipts tax
• Develop processes and workstreams with financial reporting team to improve tax reporting
• Work across functions to ensure compliance with international tax matters as the business expands globally
• Oversee quarterly tax distributions and related withholdings for members
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments on a federal, state, and local level
• Manage IRS & state tax audits and reviews with assistance from outside CPAs

Qualifications:

• 7 plus years of experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field
• Superior understanding of federal and state tax matters
• Advanced knowledge of indirect taxes such as sales & use tax
• Strong partnership tax background
• Knowledge of UK & EU tax matters a plus
• Ability to communicate complex tax information to company leadership
• CPA (active or inactive) is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
