Staff Source is seeking a part time Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to assist in managing day-to-day general administrative duties as well as some accounting and finance functions for a client in Hammond, IN. The Bookkeeper /Administrative Assistant position will be Monday-Friday and the start pay rate will be $15-$18 hourly based on experience.
Job Description:
• Manage Accounts Payable (A/P)
• Receive, approve and or decline invoices; pay invoices and maintain ledgers
• Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
• Make bank deposits and record accurately
• Evaluate financial budgets and track expenses
• Reconcile financial books including incoming and outgoing funds
• Screen phone calls and route callers to the appropriate party
• Assist front desk and other clerical duties including but not limited to opening mail, scanning documents, organizing, and filing
• Maintain office supplies inventory

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1 -2 years office experience required
• Proficient computer and typing skills required
• Experience with QuickBooks and Excel preferred
• Must be comfortable meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with limited supervision
• Need to maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and multitasking are key skills to be successful in this position
• Proficient knowledge in mathematics
Recent graduates who have the accounting knowledge but may not have the hands on experience but are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
