Every day, tens of thousands of people with care needs are supported to continue living independently at home by our operating companies. We are looking for a Group Accountant to join our Finance Shared Service Team in Nottingham.



Salary:
Negotiable £53,000-£58,000 plus 10% bonus

Duties:

  • Oversee and line management responsibility of the Nottingham based Management Accounting and Treasury teams.
  • Undertake and feedback on a first round review of the monthly management accounts with the MA team/Operational teams.
  • Assist with completion of the monthly Group consolidation and reporting pack.
  • Maintain appropriate schedules for FRS102 compliance, Group provisions workings etc.
  • Regularly review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Take a lead role in the year-end audit process liaising with the auditors to produce the statutory accounts for all Operating Companies within the Group including iXBRL tagging.
  • Take a lead role in providing information to, and liaising with, the external tax team in finalising computations and annual CT tax returns.
  • Take ownership of any OpCo VAT return commitments.
  • As and when required take a project lead on any finance initiatives and/or wider business projects with finance touch points.
  • Manage acquisition and completion account entries for business combinations.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with several years of experience in a finance role including year-end processes through to statutory accounts and tax computations
  • Have a flare for numbers, work well with people, anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be prepared to travel to other offices as necessary
