Cost accounting managers must have strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills. Businesses seek individuals with at least five years' experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. An accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA), as well as a master's degree in business administration (MBA), are highly valued.
Typical duties

• Preparation of Budgets for each project and performing the periodical Variance Analysis.

• Application of Standard Costing

• Cost Audit requirements- Maintaining cost accounting system and cost ledger as per Cost Accounting Standards.

• Performing month-end cost accounting close

• Physical Stock running in SAP for closing the gaps between Physical and System Stock.

• Analyzing inventory valuations

• Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports

• Reconciling of monthly production with beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock.

• Preparing and providing required data to the Estimation department.

Skills:
Minimum of 10 - 12 Years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles, knowledge in SAP will be advantageous, Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards, Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
