As a Payments Manager, you will be to help us build sustainable processes that will help optimise our efficiency. You will be driving continuous improvement and the standardisation of processes, including the implementation of best practices and automation initiatives, all the while collaborating with our tech team. Another key area will be to deliver reports to our senior management, as well as providing a commentary on the data. You will also oversee the payments department and be a bridge between Customer Success, Compliance and the back-office departments.

Role and


  • You will be working with a variety of suppliers and internal departments to identify and manage challenges, as well as their root causes

  • Approving payments and monitoring balances in accounts

  • Be able to handle complex payments issues alongside management of the payments team

  • Responsibility for the efficiency and accuracy of the payments department

  • Generate reports and analyses on investigations, client analysis, currency moments and more

  • Proactively looking at improving and automating all manual procedures, then building & documenting processes, policies and procedures. Streamlining and removing risk will be your highest priority.

  • Ad-hoc queries and transactions that come into the finance, operations, compliance and customer service department.

  • Use large amounts of data from diverse databases, while maintaining and managing the proprietary admin platform.

Required skills:

  • 3+ years experience working and managing a settlement, treasury, payment operations/processing or similar team

  • Experience working in a financial control team including the management of ledgers and implementation of finance processes

  • Detailed knowledge of different payment methods; SWIFT, BACS, Faster Payments, ACH, Fedwire, SEPA etc.

  • Payment expertise and a good understanding of correspondent banking models

  • An understanding of trade lifecycle, resolving cash breaks and payments settlement process

  • Technical ability and curiosity - the ability to use or learn to use various tools including SQL/VBA/Python

Desirable Skills:

  • You have graduated with a 2.1 (or equivalent)

  • Previous entrepreneurial experience where you have successfully built something new is a bonus

  • Experience working in a high growth start-up
