FD Recruit are working exclusively with a pioneering, PE backed manufacturing business to source a commercially focussed, yet hands-on, Finance Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award winning and well-established, international market leader in the design, manufacture and sale of industrial equipment and solutions to highly diverse business sectors, from Oil and Gas to Museums and Food Processing organisations.
Reporting to, and working in conjunction with, a Managing Director, who is highly driven and passionate about the business, the FD will be instrumental in streamlining and improving processes across the organisation with a focus on total business development and growth, and to compliment and challenge the MD's skillset.

My client is looking for an experienced and hands on individual, who will be comfortable with managing and contributing to the day-to-day aspects of the finance function, ensuring financial controls and the commercial framework are highly robust and designing and driving sustainable, profitable growth while jointly taking responsibility for the direction of the entire business by supporting the MD and wider Management Team through this growth and transitional period.

Key duties will encompass:

  • Provide detailed financial analysis and guidance to support decision making across all areas of the business
  • Responsible for day-to-day financial operations of the organisation's activities in accordance to UK GAAP. (Requires a hands-on approach)
  • Complete monthly Payroll for the UK, US and Germany, ensuring the correct local tax rules are applied.
  • Complete month end reporting for the UK & US businesses and consolidation for the Group within a 5 working day window, reporting on profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow along with analysis and story board to support the movements and corrective actions
  • Complete financial reports, analysis and PowerPoint slide decks for Board and Management Meetings
  • Responsible for the organizations' financial metrics, budget, forecasting, cash management, forex exposure and local/corporate tax. Develop comprehensive business plan analysis and make recommendations, based on analysis of the data, emerging trends and experiences that lead to growth and EBITDA improvement
  • Work with the Managing Director to ensure company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future plans
  • Work with the Managing Director to ensure the company is adequately insured and financial risks are mitigated
  • Manage and maintain relationships with corporate finance, external audit, tax, and general advisors to support the organization's needs
  • Manage and develop a small finance team



About you:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 10+ years' experience in executive leadership positions
  • Skilled in cash and working capital management
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Technically strong with an excellent eye for detail and a hands-on approach
  • Confident, competent and able to use initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Analytical - seeks to understand results and outcomes
  • Able to think strategically about business outcomes and what is required for success
  • Able to collaborate with, challenge and get the best out of colleagues
  • Assertive without being abrasive. Able to keep all members of the team on track
