Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for a well known business based in the Sheffield area. Due to holiday cover and a busy period across the business, they are currently seeking an immediately available ambitious Finance Assistant to work within their busy finance team on an on going temporary basis, that may become permanent!

This is a great opportunity for a progressive and determined Accounts Assistant looking to further their career in finance & the successful candidate will assist the finance team in the preparation of financial information.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

* Run monthly payroll for circa 70 employees
* Processing of salary journals
* Issuing of electronic payslips
* Produce payroll year end and complete procedures for HMRC
* Administer SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP, starters and leavers
* Opening and Closing customer accounts and credit checking
* Collating remittances
* Dealing with Account queries
* Creating and issuing invoices and statements
* Income reconciliation reports at month end
* Ensuring the timely collection of overdue accounts
* Aged debtors reporting with commentary at month end
* Reduction in debtor days
* Issuing monthly customer statements and chase letters
* Sending old debts to litigation
* Create and send supplier payment runs
* Matching, batching and coding invoices and send to budget holders
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Monthly GRNI reconciliation
* Monitor Purchase order procedure
* Assist with the production of KPI's
* Sterling Petty Cash
* Month end reports
* Intercompany reconciliations
* Checking, analysis and preparing expenses journal input sheets
* Assist with ad hoc management reports
* Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post

To be successful for this role you will have the following:

* AAT Studier or relevant degree would be advantageous
* Educated to GCSE level including Maths & English
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a fast paced accounts department
* Advanced Excel knowledge & Sage Line 50 Experience
* Have the ability to work pro-actively within a team
* Possess good organisation skills
* Have excellent interpersonal skills to deal with customers and external contacts

This will be a varied role which will report directly into the Financial Manager and will ideally suit someone looking to gain more exposure in accounts whilst doing their further studies.
