This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join a fast-growing PE backed business in South Wales. Working as part of a small team and reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information for key stakeholders.

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to make a significant contribution to the achievement of the group's objectives.

This role is expected to be progressive and you will be developing your knowledge and experience through continuous training and development.The role will be challenging yet rewarding, and you will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of finance activities including month-end completion, financial reporting and business partnering as well as inputs into financial and transactional accounting.

Main duties to include -


• The full preparation of monthly management accounts for your area


• Taking responsibility for at least 1 direct report, with responsibility for coaching, and mentoring all junior members of the team


• Internal financial reporting and key business information reporting to our stakeholders


• Responsibility for the maintenance and review of all balance sheet items in your area


• Business partnering activities with our home managers providing insightful analysis on trends and assisting in driving forward business KPIs


• Take a lead role in providing education, training and support to non-financial managers to reduced costs and improve decision making


• Budgeting and forecasting activities, including regular budget v actual performance reviews with our home managers


• Assisting in the preparation of the annual external audit


• Developing and managing financial systems, controls and policies to ensure that our processes are robust, efficient and effective


• Contribute to streamlining and standardisation of our financial processes, including integrating new homes and companies as we continue to grow


• A key contributor to finance and wider business projects, championing an ethos of continuous improvement throughout the business

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of delivering timely and accurate information. You will have a keen eye for detail and an inquisitive approach and someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You will be driven and proactive and can take the initiative to continuously strive for improvement. Previous experience of working in a dynamic business with a proven ability to react well to change is essential.

• Strong attention to detail is a key skill needed for this role - someone who is thorough and accurate when accomplishing tasks


• Excellent communication skills and able to tailor their approach to different levels in the organisation


• It is important to be both a strong team player as well as possessing the ability to work alone to complete key tasks


• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as conversant with a range of ERP and IT systems.


• Ideally qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent or close to completion


• Experience of managing small teams preferable, but not essential


• A Levels or equivalent


• GCSE's (A*-C) in Mathematics and English


• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong excel skills particularly desirable.
