VAT Accountant - Retail Brand - Wellingborough - Circa £45k-£55k + 10% bonus and great benefits package

Robert Walters are hiring for an EMEA VAT Accountant for a leading retail brand based near to Wellingborough, but offering 3 days per week working from home.

This is a permanent full-time role paying circa £45k-£55k plus 10% bonus and a great benefits package.

Reporting into the EMEA Financial Accounting Manager, the EMEA VAT Accountant is responsible for all of the VAT and indirect tax affairs of the business in the region.

In addition to VAT this includes work on instrats, EC Sales, and other indirect taxes.

This is a varied role and will encompass work across compliance, advisory, reporting and project work.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure all indirect tax return submissions and payments are made in line with applicable deadlines and that we comply with timely submission of all necessary financial statistical returns (e.g. VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists).

• Liaison with our third party professional service providers and tax advisors to ensure that all relevant local requirements are met.

• Assistance with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of robust month end processes and internal controls to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.

• Provide VAT support to wider business projects to ensure that the VAT impacts are properly understood in order that the group can remain compliant

• Promote a culture of best practice across EMEA by ensuring all work is completed to the highest level

• Provide cover and assistance to the wider finance team and assist in any other ad hoc projects as required, including exploring better ways of working with the EMEA Finance team.
