MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT



SALARY:
C£35k

ROLE: We are a manufacturing business based in South Manchester and we are looking for a Management Accountant to join our finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will be responsible for providing insight into company performance through regular analysis and reporting, as well as playing a key part in future planning for the business through robust costing, forecasting and modelling.

This role will involve effective interaction and partnering with other departments within the business, ensuring that financial information is at the forefront of decision making across sales, development and operational functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Weekly reporting and analysis on operational performance including material and labour variances.

• Maintenance and review of standard costs with quarterly updates.

• In depth analysis of purchase price variance, highlighting key trends and ensuring these are addressed.

• Responsibility for monthly sales and margin forecasting based on demand plans and price forecasts.

• Providing commercial costings for existing products and new product development.

• Playing a key role in the month end process, with responsibility for analysing variances, preparing reconciliations and completion of management accounts pack.

• Preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments.

• Assistance with external audit processes.

• Ad-hoc project work.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:


• You will be a part qualified accountant with a level of commercial acumen.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Confidence to build relationships with internal stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Drive to improve processes and procedures

• Good time management, planning and organizational skills

• Ability to turn analysis into actions

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:


• Experience of working in a changing environment, ideally within a manufacturing business.

• Full driving licence
