Our client in Falmouth is looking for a Payroll Officer to join their team starting as soon as possible.

You will be responsible for processing the company payroll on a monthly basis, liaising closely with the business, HR team and also the payroll bureau to ensure that payroll is processed accurately and any queries are resolved quickly. The role is planned as 12 months fixed-term contract.

* You are adept at building relationships quickly with colleagues and other staff members and understand the importance of accuracy in your work.
* You are highly confidential and able to comply with legislation and company policies and procedures.

You will work closely with the HR Team and Management to gather data and resolve queries.


Here's what a typical day would be like:

* End to end processing of the payroll, in-house
* Management of employee payroll queries, including investigation and resolution
* Management of payroll files and records
* Adhering to payroll policies and procedures, complying with relevant legislation
* Calculation of allowance and overtime payments
* Payroll administration of salary sacrifice schemes (cycle to work scheme, pension salary sacrifice scheme)
* Accrual of TOIL
* Management of the PSA process
* General Ledger recharge collation and administration
* Journal creation and maintenance
* Close relationships with HR, Business control, FSSC to provide data where requested
* Creating payroll deadlines and adhering to business set deadlines
* Maintain float and loan information to assist with Leavers
* Post payroll admin - Audit, pension reconciliation, PSO adjustments, Directors emoluments
* Administration of pension scheme membership;
* Remaining confidential at all times;
* Management of the P11D process;
* Assistance with payroll audits;

Who we're looking for:
* Proven experience managing a payroll for c.500 employees with various allowance structures in place.
* High attention to detail
* High level of confidentiality
* Deep understanding of payroll procedures and controls
* Competent knowledge of payroll software and MS Excel
