As a global FTSE 250 company with over 500 contracts across 20 countries we rely on the support of our Serco Business Services Team to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior management accounting professional, who has knowledge and practical experience of the full end to end FP&A process, to join a fantastic team at a very exciting time for both the function and the business. You will utilise your knowledge to drive the function forward, you are fully empowered to fix issues, drive improvements and fully embed yourself in the end-to-end.

You will take accountability for the effective operation of our global processes, ensuring the defined outcomes of the GPO are delivered effectively both by our onshore finance teams but most importantly by our outsourced provider who are responsible for a lot of the process.

The primary objectives of this role are to address day to day process issues to ensure the business functions as it should, as well as improving these processes for the benefit of the operational and business teams. Prior experience of managing and delivering process improvement projects in a large complex global organisations is therefore a must.

So, as a key member of the Service Delivery team, we will be leaning on your expertise. We'll be looking to you to actively gather and recommend external best practices, propose and implement improvements, all whilst maintaining strong controls and ensuring appropriate stakeholders are part of the planning and implementation process. What you'll need to do the role

Firstly, you'll need hands on experience of forecasting and budgeting in a large and complex business. You will need to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the E2E FP&A processes and have a passion to improve those processes, making us more efficient whilst also ensuring we continually adapt to our ever-changing environment.

To do this role successfully, you'll need to effectively engage many stakeholders globally at all levels at Serco, as well stakeholders in our India based outsourced provider (Accenture). You will need to be an experienced and proactive professional, someone who will autonomously build strong relationships driving collaboration to deliver results. Working knowledge of SAP/BPC is desirable but if not a strong desire to invest in learning a new system. Lastly, you'll have the ability to step back from operational process to focus on the strategic challenges.
